Like a grain of sand
I’m looking at these mountains
silhouetting
like cathedrals
against the blue clear sky
and I wonder
if I’ll make it one more day
without her hand of love
without knowing
that she needs me
And I wonder if things
have happened too soon
or too late
But then
why should I be different
than any other man
A small grain of sand
at the mercy of wind and rain
almost invisible
distant from the stars
next to other grains of sand
fragile like me
Maybe my dreams
are bigger than I can hold
perhaps the love in me
is all I have
