I see from your profile that you are from the US and this poem is entirely relevant to what's going on over there at the moment.
I agree entirely with the content of this piece. What really angers me is that the vast majority of us aren't racist, discriminative, homophobic etc etc - we just want to get on with our lives and get on with those around us. It's the politicians who ruin it for everyone. They are the people that are supposed to represent us and yet they are entirely unrepresentative of us.
