Lost chances

by Larry Chamberlin   Feb 22, 2017

Had I wanted, I could have stayed the course
deliver the ultimate win-back to halt the divorce
but there was no verdict I’d rather hear
than I am out of here.

That cuddly girl with whom I fell in love
deserved better than one who felt above
the very essence of relation and bonding
abandoned the effort of responding.

Let me crawl into my shell
no more than bear my personal hell
just clear the way and step aside
and do not pretend it’s a matter of pride.

I liked this Larry. I just hope it's not happening in your life presently!
It's a short poem, but one that gets the message across without wasting words.
