Cats have equal worth. They are entirely different animals, but not much escapes them. |

You're so right. People who haven't had the love of a pet (any pet!) will never truly understand the hole they leave behind! Sorry to hear your sad news :( |

Such an honest write |

Thank you Phil! |

A lovely tribute to your dear friend. I too have a cat and she's cool as ever but alas she's getting up there in age and starting to move slower. Her love is unconditional as I'm sure your Charlie was. You really did a fine job with this write-I'm sorry for your loss- |

Thank you Brenda, cats really do have unconditional love, no matter what anyone says! |

I was never a fan of cats until I owned two, well my kids cats really, one of each sex. The boy was more like a dog. He would chase balls, walk around like he owned the place and had the swagger of a lion. I was so sorry to lose him. |

Thanks Nicko! I ended up disappearing again! I'll try to stay back this time haha. |

Oh dear, I think I should have stayed away from poetry today, its making me cry like this piece. The loss of a pet is as big as a loss of a friend or family member in my eyes |
by Gem
Sorry it made you sad Em, I agree with you! Sometimes the loss is bigger! |

This is wonderful |

This speaks to me so much. Often I have found my dogs to be the only things in my life that I could trust. Total love and loyalties shared. |

Thanks CJ, been a long time commenting back but your poem was so moving. Hit me hard! |

Wish I had read this sooner. I would've nominated it. I'm a big animal lover and have an especially soft spot for cats. I lost my sweet little Milo at 2 years and 4 months a year and a half ago. I think about him every day. Wonderful poem. |

Thank you, as long as we think about them, they are never truly gone! |
