A cherished place (English sonnet)

by Michael   Mar 19, 2017

When troubled, I visit a sacred place.
Where an affable welcome, graces the air
A haven where warm, open arms embrace.
An oasis for me, to express and share.
Unload dense burdens, and place to one side
Loosen emotions, which become entwined
When at times before. I have wept and cried,
Unravelling my twisted, roily mind
A deep empathy, so truly conveyed
Helps untangle a spiralling descent.
Unbind my demons, which upon me preyed
Again. I'm here for your soul to clement.
Bless you, my fine friend, for taking a part
For sharing a space in your loving heart.
