Just my Luck

I can
Honestly say that
My current love life
Can be classified in
Four distinct categories.

The first is finding
the right person
at the
Wrong time.

The one whom you
Should have been with
But could not be with
For reasons that were
Outside of your hands.

The second,
Which is about as bad,
Is finding the wrong person
At the right time.

This one occurs
During the moments in which
You are ready to love again,
Only to realize that
The person you allowed
In your castle of hearts
Was there to demolish it
Into a million pieces.

The third,
Falling in love
With a completely new person,
And they tell you all of the
Lies that you have heard
A million times.

The fourth,
Falling in love
With an old flame,
And they come into it
With a million new lies.

    Alex, I'm so sorry but I had to laugh at this, why?? Because #storyofmylife lol!!! I love how you write, it's always so honest and relatable which is what I like in poetry sometimes the honest, raw writes make the best pieces don't they?

    1/ A very straight to the point stanza which tells me even before reading further that it's not going to be good....

    2/ This is always so sad and you can never quite get over the 'right' person either and when they come along at the wrong time you always ask yourself what if and why, don't you??

    3/ These kinds of people are horrible and should be left to their own devices but it's life and we have to live with it. I like the imagery of them coming along just to smash up the castles of our hearts and smashing them up because then when the right person comes along it's always the wrong time, usually when we've just been heartbroken, right?

    4/ Yes and the thing is it's things we have believed before and will no doubt believe again, isn't it? Or is that just me?

    5/ The killer one but we can't help falling for them again.
