My secret goodbye

You don't know yet
but I just couldn't stay here.
So I'm on the first jet
to my new place there.

Everywhere I went
it just hurt even more.
Life is so hell bent
so I walked straight out the door.

Please don't be upset
its just something I had to do.
No I haven't forgotten you just yet
you need to know it wasn't you.

This town is full of our memories
and I had to get away.
I hope I wasn't a tease
on our date just yesterday.

So here is my secret goodbye
written on this piece of paper.
No I don't want to give it a second try
this is for the better.
