I want only the best for you

I swallow back my tears as we
say "love yous" and "goodbyes"
as there's nothing I can do to
stop you boarding that plane
and deep down I don't want to.

I want you to be happy and if
that means leaving me here to
go traveling then so be it because
I want you to find yourself and
someone who will love you with
all their hearts not 'just because'
it feels right for them to say so
