Fragile Beauty

by Rey Severs   Apr 17, 2017

When teardrops hit the ocean, what happens in the blue?

Is it a meld of salted water, or is it something new?

Auburn skies, upon the horizon of blue,
I could watch forever, just to get lost in you.

Fair tones of blush upon milky flesh,
Flawed beauty of only perfection,
Everything about you I see as your best,
Even if you feel you falter in that section.

Warmth inside, a burning fire,
A fire I need to hold in arms,
Such fragile beauty, flawless features,
I hold it so tight I sometimes cause harm.

Truth be told, I am afraid..that someone, may one day see you through my eyes,
And I am scared I will lose you, lost forever, and that is something I will never compromise.

Squeeze too tightly, and you might break, your porcelain shattering in my fingers,
But don't hold tight enough and you will slip through, not enough grip, lest you linger.
My everything my all, my love, my dear, I really do hope you know,
I'm a fighter, but no gunslinger,
I just squeeze so tight, bruises will inevitably show.

I just love you is all, that I don't know how to express myself,
You bring so much good out in me, that I cannot foretell,
I wish to worship you, place you on a shelf,
I put you there, so I never bid you farewell.

My precious flame, my dearest glow,
I say all these things, but hope you know,
You are the gem of my life that is most precious...priceless..
Irreplaceable..With you...I shine the brightest.

This is just lovely! Your love for this person is evident. Your fears, well told. Love is something that just has to be, push too hard you will lose them, nurture it, tend to it, it will flourish. Well done-
