X I

by tobias kinti   Apr 23, 2017

they put the oil
on the baby
and they put
the final dress
on the dead woman

bible pages
become yellow
and fingerprints
smother the x-rays

community services
pour soapy water
over vomit
on sunday mornings
and men in white
discover things
and keep them
secret

suspects are given
dirty glasses of water
in interrogation rooms
and reports
are written by
crooked shadows

outlaws stand
on war tanks with
raised fists
and housewives
seek pleasure
elsewhere

addicts
take the hit
in dark rooms
and fall asleep
to the white noise
of the television
and a girl
who broke her mothers nose
sells her body
to sleep under
a roof

big cartels
dispense mystery
capsules
to help the workers
sleep better
and lost figures
look over bridges
and wonder
what the bed
of the river
must feel like

all will go on
just as it is
for all is
as it should
be

You seem to have a thing with bible believers. There must be a great reason behind it. I love your honesty in here yet again.

Thanks for all of your comments, Brenda. I am fairly new to this. I always want to be honest and that's why I let the writing follow the mood I'm in.
