Several Moons Ago

by Maple Tree   Apr 24, 2017

During a midnight summer; I fasted for two moons-

Until the return of your shadow.

It became clear to me that your eyes
weighed heavy with sorrow,
a man with a million smiles, and yet-
tears for the one he truly loved.

Was I strong enough to cover the throne of your love?

I wasn't born to wear a crown of thistle....
draped in ivy, my kisses were poisonous
to those undeserving souls.

I read between the lines of your transparent words,
understanding that a thorny wall had grown heavily;
around your heart.

I stood under the shimmer of stars
confessing emotions that were for your eyes only......

You became my soulmate-
Once you stepped into the light;

Revealing who you were truly meant to be.

My love,
Our nature is but a forrestry of wild flowers...
tears shall make us stronger, sunshine brings laughter;
and when the nights grow cold....

The warmth of our love will be the only blanket we need....

    What beautiful imagery. I love the way that you weave the magic of nature through out and the rich emotions laid bare. Another exquisite piece x
