You win the game

by Beautiful Tragedy   Apr 24, 2017

Congratulations.
You won my heart and put it through hell;
Stomping on it, smashing it into the dirt,
And leaving it in the rain
Only to nurse it back to health with hope;
And doing it all over again.
It was fun for you wasn't it?
Watching me spend so many nights crying and hurting;
Laughing as my state continued to worsen while you played me with the very
Tip of your fingers.
You had me so in love with you that
You could get me to do absolutely anything for you;
Even if it meant sacrificing myself
To save your pathetic ass.
Well done.
You got me to fall in love with you and then you used and abused me like A toy.
The game never ended for you;
And you played it well.
You win.

    Just by you saying he isn't going to control you anymore, is a sign that you're the one winning now. Keep your head up!

    Such a powerful sadness in your poem. It resonates deeply BT, and I hope you'll write the opposite some day.

    Incredible piece of openness

    Such a sad and tragic story, but oh so familiar to many.
    You paint a lovely sense of resignation tinged with bitterness.

      Anger is a very fit emotion for the situation, but I will rise above and beyond that, and even him. I deserve better. He isn't going to control me anymore.
