Gone But Not Forgotten:

by Scott Cole   Apr 27, 2017

I use to tell myself you can have her
Cause you've already taken her from me,
All those special memories we ever shared
Now her poor mind just sets them free.

I do remember all of our good ole days
When we cherished our moments of love,
All those years it took to establish them
Are slowly scattering away like a dove.

I must say I never thought about this
But each day I do see it a little more,
How it seems like your mind's elsewhere
Like you don't even know me anymore.

Go ahead take her from me if you must
I still know in her heart of hearts,
That deep down she stills love me so
Even if right now we're drifting apart.

But now I tell myself I do still love you
No matter whatever becomes of you,
I will never ever just let you fade away
I will fight for you if that's all that I do.

Baby I know that you could care less
Especially when your mind is miles away,
But I'm right here for you my princess
Until the very end of my very last day.

For I still see that spark inside your eyes
That tells me our love is never gonna part,
Ole Mr. Alzheimer might have your mind
But it's me that'll always have your heart.
