Our Favorite Place:

by Scott Cole   Apr 29, 2017

I write your name in the sand
With these teardrops that I cry,
To remember the person you were
And so that your name won't die.

This beach was last to hold you
Along with those tossing seas,
They both were last to touch you
And I'm as mad as I can be.

But I don't blame the blue waters
Those still waters that run deep,
And I don't blame these cool sands
But they did so guide your feet.

For this here was our favorite spot
That place we loved to get away,
Our escape from life's little worries
And medicine for our mind's decay.

But now as I'm able to look around
I see that I hardly love this place.
For it never took my breathe like yours....
And put so much misery on my face.
