Ode to Friendship

by Aken Sol   Jul 9, 2004

The shift of fortune test true friendship
Because true friends are there for you
To share both good times and bad
They’re suppose to be always true blue
Never letting anything between you two

The bond of true friendship is strong indeed
It can conquer strife of all kind
From heartbreak to poverty to physical harm
Or rumors or any pain you can find
True friendship has this type of bind

That’s how tight our bond has become
For you, I’d take a bullet full blast
And I’m certain you’d do the same for me
That’s the foundation for friendships that last
That’s why I can forget my past

One if the amazing friends I have
(His name is insignificant)
Writes poetry, talks, and trains with me
We don’t keep track of things borrowed or lent
Making fortune for us irrelevant

In this world of deceit and despair
I’m lucky to know who my real friends are
And I appreciate their loyalty
So no matter when or how far
I’ll be there to help you in peace or war

Dedicated to ALL my friends. You know who you are :-)

Yeh I'd take a bullet for you. Nice rhyme scheme by the way, sort of like my crazy rhyme scheme in er.... whatever that poem of mine is.
