Dingy Red Suitcase:

by Scott Cole   May 6, 2017

She told me it's over
And pack up my things,
In a single suitcase
With broken strings.

I went to the closet
That dark place it hides,
Where nobody can steal it
Or take it for a ride.

So I packed what I could
Just the things I need,
Those things most important
That I don't want to leave.

It was such a tight fit
I barely got it all in,
But the zipper it closed
Made my head spin.

I picked up my suitcase
My heart in my throat,
This thing is so heavy
I doubt it would float.

I reached for my jacket
Put it under my arm,
Right next to my suitcase
And my burglar alarm.

I walked to the front door
And turn to pour out my heart,
So I unzipped my suitcase
And talked to my sweetheart.

Your all that I care for
And I love you alot,
Your all my heart needs
And your all that I got.

No you got everything
Said his ex sweetheart,
You took all of your things
That's close to your heart.

Just like I told you
I said it to your face,
All of your close feelings
In your heart shaped suitcase.

A story within a story. You are good telling them and
you never miss a beat in your rhymes or rhythm till the end.
