Budding Elsewhere

by Alex Penuelas   May 7, 2017

Have you ever had that feeling,
When you hang out with the
Same crowd for too long,
That your mind just asks you
To try to bud elsewhere?

Don't get me wrong,
I love my friends,
I love that I can confide in them,
That i can have fun with them,
And overall,
Have a decent time.

But after singing the same song
For too damn long,
After repeating the same stories,
The same "you gotta do this bro"s.

After going out to the same locations
That are filled with the same people
That you see at the same time
On every Saturday.

It just...gets boring.

And it gets worse when you try to
Suggest something new and
It always resorts to
Business as usual.

My soul does not like to stay planted
In one location for far too long.

As I grow older,
I know that I must
Bud elsewhere,
On new soils,
With new songs and speeches,
New locations to see,
New people to meet.

That feeling of new beginnings...
Is what I've been craving
For God knows how long.

And I guess today I'll start doing that.

I love this write, Alex!! It's like you took the emotions I've been feeling recently and put them into words. Amazing write!!
