You were worth it

by Beautiful Tragedy   May 7, 2017

We used to talk through music;
It's how we communicated
When we didn't know how to find the words,
so instead of making each other uncomfortable we would
Give each other a song to listen to,
Letting the other interpret it by them self.
You made a comment one day when Taylor Swift sang about whether the high of Her love would be worth the pain.
And you said it almost never is.
But that's where you're wrong.
Because even through my anger and hurt there are memories I have with you
That I wouldn't trade for the universe.
Not a single one.
I find solace and comfort in those memories;
I cherish them and hold onto them because they represent not only man I fell in love with,
But how I've managed to become who I am today.
No matter how much it hurt,
You were worth it.
Every. F**king. Second of it.

    I tried to send hints like this once. "One wish," by Ray J. And finally "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts to let her know I just wanted her to be happy. Even if it wasn't with me.

    It was DEFINITELY worth the pain. She was my best friend. We grew up together. Hell, I liked her before I even knew what liking someone meant.

    And I don't regret telling her how I felt. Literally gave her a book, filled cover to cover, of my poems and thoughts. At least now she knows.

    This should be front page for like a month. This is so honest and VERY relatable and your voice is well defined throughout....to be perfectly honest I'm gonna leave it there.

    Great write.
