Glass Letter:

by Scott Cole   May 8, 2017

I stare out my bug free window
My view of this fast paced World,
I'm running alittle bit behind
So my wheels are set on sworl.

I have my secrets and my reasons
Why this World I see scares me,
Believe me I do have the proof
But fond hearts they never believe.

It's rainy at this very second
So I need to speed up my truck,
And deliver my special letter
Like a fast swimming duck.

For my destination it is a must
Through rain sleet and snow,
To get the package on time
As slow as my UPS boat goes.

The rain is really picking up now
Looks like a mad ragging Ocean,
Just like a delivery truck at sea
A poor glass soul with one notion.

I would hate to shatter my text
Out here all alone and afraid,
Cause these flooding waters scare
All those worries my blockades.

I wish I could be there already
But I got to get it there safe,
And my hands and eyes are tired
So I'm praying that I'm not late.

Maybe the blowing wind from above
Will add gas to my progress,
And keep the roads wide open
And my mind free of stress.

But these sad rainy days confuse
Makes me scratch my head,
And ask myself am I sane
Delivering glass letters without tread.

My pop bottle vision is the worst
Through thick frosty windshinds,
Am I a forgotten sealed love note
Or a glass UPS truck in the wind.
