Lost… (Trochee & Oddquain)

by Meena Krish   May 9, 2017

I’ve lost what I couldn’t hold
hoping its return
will heal that moment of screams
whilst the still night burns;

This heart struggles to unfold,
understand or learn
the bite life took from its dream
without a concern;

The
price I paid
for this loss cannot
replace the image time plucked
from my eyes and now it hopelessly rains,
with each sunrise heart flutters
waiting for that call
instead tears
stream

    A wonderfully written slice of dark poetry, Meena. I am sorry I missed this one.

    Do take care and all the best to you,

    Such personal grief, transformed to such a translucent piece that everyone could relate with.
