Bloody Cat

by CJ Maleney   May 14, 2017

I was not one born to love felines
I don't trust those sneaky bloody cats
They're evil little buggers
And they hunt mouse and rat.

I'm a man who identifies with canine,
My bite is bloody strong
Yet this bloody thing just wandered in
And acted like it belonged

It's the second time it's been here
Though the first time it snuck in
Cocky little bugger
But I'll always love such things.

It wandered round my home
And snaked around my legs
It took a few tickles under is chin
Then tried to tear my hand to shreds

I thought ooh you cheeky git
Do you know where you reside
As the bugger walked out the door
It gave a glance behind.

It disappeared out of the door
As swiftly as it came
In a little weird scratched finger thing
I think I've made a friend.

It snuck in once before and I was buggered if I could get it out, little sod started using my sofa as a scratching post.

Last night I couldn't sleep again and was having a cigarette out of the window. (yeah I know it's a tile habit) it was on my fence hunting something. I whistled at it then went down and opened the door a few inches. A few seconds later it was up.

Didn't stay long this time, probably because there was no food available. Lol

Funny creatures, aren't they? I've never quite trusted them somehow...

    Craig,

This thoroughly amused me simply because I can relate perfectly. I myself have always been a dog person, but my wife is a cat lover (we have both). Wordsworth (our cat) sounds just like this guest of yours...but he lives here! He'll smeagle in and out the house (normally when there's food about) and be just as happy to take a chunk out of your hand when, just minutes earlier, he was enjoying a scratch from it.
Incidentally, just the other day, I found myself chasing him in and out of the hedge as the game of catch and release he was enjoying with a mouse had taken a rather sinister and prolonged turn...

    Amusing stuff,

    Ben
