The Sun Doesn't Shine Down Here

by Maple Tree   May 16, 2017

There is a crack above
where light silences the whispering
below.

I live in a world where dozens of
shadows live in one skeleton,
eyes without a spark,
and the moon unleashes
chaotic tears.

Numb hearts continue to beat
In rythem of a lifeless routine
and as much as I try to change things....

the walkers continue to ignore my smile.
