It's a cruel world

by Beautiful Tragedy   May 21, 2017

As I was driving home tonight,
I noticed a group of kids around the age of
Probably twelve beating up on someone younger.
It was on the front lawn of a church,
Not to mention it was three against one.
I felt helpless
Not only because I had no idea where I was so I couldn't call the police,
But because I was in a taxi so I couldn't stop the car either.
Every day adults hurt, molest, rape, and abuse children.
But these were kids for the love of god.
Full blown children who
Probably haven't even hit puberty yet
Kicking his head and punching him
In the side while he layed helpless on the grass.
It's a beautiful night,
And I was in a great mood.
But suddenly the grass doesn't look so green anymore,
And the pink and purple hue of the evening sky isn't so beautiful now.
Neither the breeze nor the warm wind feel peaceful at this point;
And it begs the question;
How can something so beautiful turn out to be so ugly?

    I guess in many ways, you answer your own question here: how can something so beautiful turn out to be so ugly?

    Every day adults hurt, molest, rape, and abuse children.

    ^^

    Some kids turn out ugly because there are some very ugly adults out there.

    A sad piece, indicative of these rather sad times.

    All the best,

    Ben

      I think I may have done that on purpose. I have a way of answering my own questions in my writing, sometimes without realizing it.
      It's just awful, how things are these days. And I thought the world was bad when I was growing up. Smh. It just keeps getting worse.
