I May Burn You

by Everlasting   May 21, 2017

I can't help but feel the way I do...

It's like there you are:

a tree.

And there it is:

a fire.

Yet I can't help but feel

that I'm the wind...

that no matter how many times

I try to whisper warnings

to your ears,

the fire grows

and grows

...

because of me

This is an awesome piece. The feeling when you don't wanna do something bad to a person but you end up doing it. Like you can't help but just hurt them anyway. Greatly done.

A metaphor for the destructive influence that people can have on each other? Here, you are the wind and the wind often only fans the flames...

I like this a lot, Lucero.
