I WONDER

I WONDER

Before the fall of Adam and Eve when their spirits created by God were in perfect tune with him day and night under the Sun and the Moon. Together they walked and talked every day from morning till noon, then the Lord departed giving them a special time to spend alone, maybe for the time when the seed of Able was sown?

Then in the cool of the evening the Lord again returned, in the Garden they could hear him walk, eagerly they looked forward to his heavenly talk. At the fall from this Paradise they had put their faith in the words of the snake, this caused the Lord to seal them form the Garden by an Angel with a flaming sword guarding the gate.

No longer could the Lord be heard in their dead darkened spirits and from him they hid shaking with fear, only the future promises he had spoken could be heard by the ear. Paradise was lost and mankind too, but he said; fear not, I will come as a man to take your place and die for you.

No longer do I wonder, Emanuel, God’s only Son laid aside his glory, became like me but without sin you see. He paid my ransom by being nailed to a tree. He gave me a new heart, the stony one had to depart, my spirit is a new creation, his joy and light have replaced my darkness and degradation.

A story well told with some accomplished rhyming throughout.

    Well done on this, Ken.

    All the best,
