An oath to my love

by Kereen   May 28, 2017

If you were the flower of a garden
You would be the sadness and joy of my heart
Joy
Because you are beautiful sweet and ripe for the picking
sadness
For if I should pick you from your sanctuary then you will surely die
And I would rather give my heart for it is equal to losing you

You would be my crescendo
To taste your name as it falls from my lips
To see your smile when your head tips
To feel your breath on my skin soft and sweet even softer than the wind
To hear your voice, your laugh, your melodic humming tunes
Don't you see you're my melody, my life, my reason for being

I take an oath upon my life to be your shoulder but you made it a blessing upon my head so we could grow older
This is not a vow but my love I confess
Because every time you hold me in your tenderness this oath to you I will surrender

Wow. I'm sorry it took me so long to stumble across this poem, but this is just beautiful. I love the imagery and the flow of the entire thing, and the emotions are clearly weaved throughout.
    Awesome job
