A Drop of an Ocean

by RustySoul   May 31, 2017

What are these words but an outlet of thoughts
Not great, mediocre perhaps,
Or of those emotions more dear to myself.
I make endless attempts to carve a niche of my own
At times taking an iota of pride of my work.
But when I look around, I find
Greater minds at work
Whose deep, profound words create a world of its own,
Which I never fully perceive its entirety, let alone write.
Making me feel insignificant like a drop of an ocean,
Lost into oblivion.
And then I remind myself that I
Too am a part of this intricate world,
No matter how trivial I seem.
I am humbled, thus.

What a sweet, encouraging piece. You resound the feelings I believe each one of us feels at some point in our lives. The realization at the end is beautiful. Great write!
