Kids

ENVELOPED ENERGY
SILENT EVOLUTION
CHAOTIC BEAUTY
PATIENCE EVOLVED

I write the descriptors above
So I can rhyme below
To help explain to you all
Of my children in tow

I have only but two
Some have many more
But the energy of mine
I’d put against your

Ha! I used to be strong
But now I am slight
My hair was brown once
Today only white

I measured six three
Yet five eight is what they say
No that can’t be right
You can’t shrink in a day

How can you go
From a body by fad?
To looking in the mirror
And having a body by dad?

Yet the reflection still smiles
When it looks back at me
I’d gladly lose my past
To have a future with thee!

Awww, this was beautiful. Haha, talk about raising kids. I have a three-year-old daughter and my, she drains my energy. So nice to read this from the point of view of a dad. Great write!
