To the Man from Pakistan

by mossgirl19   Jun 2, 2017

There is absolutely no explanation
To an attraction that suddenly cages the heart
Making it a prisoner in an instant.

What you did was simply show me who you are
And what you want to do, as if you have known me
A thousand years back.

Early morning talks became so full of joy
That I always find myself smiling alone
Thinking of you and your childish ways.

I used to be satiated by the hi-hellos
We exchange when its morning here and midnight there
Until I longed for more.

I have no question for you
In fact, I will not dare ask you how you see
This lady from ‘Fili-land’.

I am deeply moved though, that even if
our world exists in the middle of truth and lie
here we are to risk it.

I’m glad that we can say I love you sincerely
But never force ourselves into destiny
But let it overtake us.

What we can let go, we deserve. The less travelled path, holds value. Until offence, trust no preference.

Wow, just how sweet is this comment. You are right about everything you said. 'What we can let go, we deserve.' If we can let go of that thing, it means we are not selfish enough so yes we deserve that.

This is a very open and heartfelt write, one i think that many can relate to, I really like your word choice here and the structure with the triolets are a really nice touch!

    Great job
