Forgetting

by Mortal Utopia   Jun 3, 2017

You spoke with a tear in your eye
that wouldn’t fall -

like a grain of sand
in a broken hourglass,
frozen forever in time.

You told me you felt happiness
with a voice filled with sorrow -
that you forgot all the things
that made you shiver,

as you shivered.

Wow, the contrast in this poem is so strong! I find this so full of something deep I don't know what exactly it is but I feel torn between sadness and hope. Beautiful write.
