English Spring

by CJ Maleney   Jun 6, 2017

I have seen lands ravaged by conflict
I have been frozen and I have been cooked.
The beauty that I've seen in those lands
Has not been overlooked.

I've stood on top of mountains,
And seen the rain and snow.
Mount Kenya rising above the plains,
The poverty and suffering bellow.

Snow so deep in the balkans,
That no vehicle could move.
The mountains white like Virgin brides
So beautiful, raw and pure.

Through all the lands I've traveled,
All the things I've learned and known,
Nothing can ever truly compare
To the beauty of spring back home.

That sentiment lives in us. We can go to far away places
see things and love them or be down heart-ed by what we see
but in the end the heart always loves it where it began...at home.
    Enjoyed the read~

      Indeed,

It's good to travel and experience other lands and cultures but home will always be home.
