Beautiful Stars

by Maple Tree   Jun 7, 2017

Secrets fall like rain showers
dangling under weeping willows,
as whispers filter during a midnight fog.

The glory of darkness shelters a heart
from broken sorrow, cave dwellers know
when to protect themselves from sunshine.

Fingertips tease a river still;
circling emotions under stars-

There she finds comfort
as silence conceals
truth within tears -

her weeping eyes
of willowy stars.

They will never know she wept.

This is nature at its best, tender and soft with a mother’s touch
and at the same time the sadness felt within each line lingers
long after. I like the visuals and the choice of words it make
this write so beautifully sad and moving.

You've always had a way with words and pulling people in with them. This is one I can truly say "I can relate"
