From red to orange
Yellow, green then blue
All the way to indigo and violet
Most people will see right through

Some people say you’re seven colours
I believe you’re more
A beautiful mixture of nature
Beginning from a drop of moisture

The archway you create
Is almost heavenly
Creating some colour in the darkened sky
Or above the roughened sea

After a storm hasn’t long passed
I find myself looking high
Hoping to find you present
Creating hope for every girl and guy

People use you in many ways
A symbol for hope and love
A sign that you are always there
Rising high above

Someone special sent me a picture of a rainbow
And it reminded me of hope
We can all make it through a sad and dark time
In our own way we can cope
