I have finally arrived (PnQ Ball)

The raven's arrived
at the stroke of midnight,
with official salutations
of a ball taking place.
"All you PnQers
come one, come all,
just bring your wit, don't plan to sit,
for a-dancing you will be."

I did not dally, nor tally the costs,
this was a once in a lifetime ball,
I simply had to attend.
So I hopped aboard my carriage
awaiting in the alley
and off to the ball I rode.

Upon arrival I came upon some traffic.
Apparently the Queen of Hearts
had gotten into a brawl with Sin-derella...
Not sure who was going to come out on top,
the Queen was shouting for heads to roll.

Sidestepping that melee,
I dodged fleeing monkeys.
What was going on at this ball???
I stood at the entrance
and surveyed the scene-
So much happening,
some bordering on obscene.
I spotted Tony and Ren two-stepping
to a fast country beat,
they made a great pair, tearing up that dance floor.
Duchess Em was holding court across the great room.
Her many admirers starting to swoon,
for the words she spoke
brought out the yellow moon...
The Lady Mel Liz, resplendently dressed,
was deep in discussion
with the Sorcerer Alec.
I couldn't help but rub my eyes,
for he kept changing his size...
One minute a teacher wearing glasses and tie,
the next a sorcerer casting spells on the side-
He had me wondering, what's his next disguise?

Suddenly Michael appeared at my left side.
The originator of this ball
and all the melee inside.
I nodded to him and made my decent.
With my silk skirts rustling and my purple chucks squeeking
ever so slightly on the marble below.
I sidestep the dancers and head to Duchess Em.
Curtsying deeply I greet my U.K. friend.
We make our rounds about this great room,
she fills me in on the craziness
that's been had by one and all.
Laughing and chatting, all the craziness aside.
This journey so worth it,
finally meeting,
all these wonderful poets,
at the PnQers ball!
