Insult to injury

You've added insult to injury
and I've tried my best to not let it get the best of me
The words exchanged, they did hurt
But in the end, you were just being curt

Even though you shoved me down
just to elevate yourself
I'll get back up and soar above
your fragile, legalistic wails

Because though you treat me unfairly
brushing aside my concerns daily
I'll stand on my beliefs
You won't get the best of me

Because what's right is right and truth is truth
Try as you might to deny, but your point is simply moot
