Cairngorns

by AngelaLuisaCory   Jun 10, 2017

The shadows will reach and smother this day
As evening approaches, no words left to say.
The sun has ensnared this day in embrace
As evenings warm fingers will touch with no trace.

The greenness of sunlight is now changing form
The warmth of this day in the lonely Cairngorms
The colours of summer are swept to one side
The shadows are mingling, with no where to hide.

The Stag raises up, his call will resound
He'll pummel the evening, his hoofs on the ground.
It heralds a new day , a true time of calm
For the Cairngorms will answer to all of mankind.

Fabulous. Perfect rhyming (which I love) and loverly scenes of Scotland. The imagery and emotion are spot on. Another wonderful poem. Milly x
