Missing you Pt 2

by Brenda   Jun 12, 2017

As of late
you have been on my mind...
It's been so long
since I have seen your face,
I have missed
you so...
-
I went
in search of you.
Traveling many a day,
many a night,
to finally arrive
at the place you lay
your head...
-
Elation turned to sadness,
I was turned away at the gates,
"Knockin' on Heavens Door"
apparently is not allowed...
I was told ever so politely.
Firmly, gently I was pushed away,
no living amongst
the dead
is allowed on these
sacred grounds...
-
Distraught, destroyed,
I flung myself
from the heavens.
My fall from grace,
epic...
Wings seared off,
never again will
I see your face,
destined to walk the earth,
throughout eternity
alone...

Brenda what a truly wonderful yet sad piece of writing which I guess is rather relatable.

1/ This makes you wonder if this person you're missing so is a lost love or someone who has unfortunately passed over as I can feel the emotion and yearning right from the start.

2/ The emotion continues and now it's quite clear this is about someone who has sadly passed over and the yearning is definitely clear here and though it's saddening i like the subtle rhyming.

3/ If only it was allowed. This is hard hitting !!

4/ The emotion and heartache again is clear especially with "distraught" "destroyed" and "alone" and though this is sad the imagery is breathtaking?!!

    Much love,
    Em

Awww, thank you Em! I think it would be awful to finally get there and be turned away. We always want just one more day. Hugs-
