Fooled into love

by Michael   Jun 12, 2017

I write with
wounded ink
which bleeds
sadness through
my quill.
and makes my
heart sink.

My deep-felt emotions
weep tears of woe
my voice cries a
shrilled status quo.

I hear them saying:

'Only fools fall in love'
I beg to differ
from this meaningless
scrawl.
As what I do believe,
that I have been
fooled into
a heart-less fall.

Damn me!
for wearing vulnerable sleeves,
and my feelings again
go weak at the knees.
But in truth, I enjoy this
quivering sensation.
But again wavers back,
and shuts me out in the cold.
Shivering at the same old destination,
of where again
I've been fooled by another
with their own absorbing
intention

The weariness wobbles in
my legs once more
feelings slam my love
in the face, by your
beguiled; regardless
front door.

What makes this piece excellent is its honesty. Form-wise, it's beautifully done.
