Hanging

by Mark Rawlins   Jun 14, 2017

She's hanging by her fingernails,
she's hanging by a thread.
Despite her catastrophic fails
and what the people said.

She thought we wouldn't take the time
to show we really care.
She thought she'd pass the winning line
with slogans and hot air.

'Strong & stable?' - that went sour,
now she hasn't got a clue,
but yet still she clings to power
with contempt for me and you ....

Contempt for age, contempt for youth,
contempt for poor and sick.
She thought we wouldn't see the truth,
she thought we all were thick.

So she's hanging by her fingernails,
she's hanging by a thread,
'cause hope will win where contempt fails ....
that's what the people said.

This is a fantastic write and goes to show our perspectives are always different and though we shouldn't we do judge a person when first meeting them which sometimes can go badly wrong for the better or worse.. ..

I love the repetition in this too it's really powerful
