Nocturnal Romance (Sonnet)

by RustySoul   Jun 20, 2017

Drenched in moonlight under the naked sky,
We sit with smiling lips and love-filled gaze
Like a rose that neither withers nor dies,
Our love has set our jaded hearts ablaze.
As if in a trance, we dance to nature's tune,
And humbly obey its laws of romance
Young is the night and lonely feels the moon,
Witnessing us, in turns, stealing a glance.
May these moments freeze that move apace
Such occasions do not frequent as this,
And write down a tale that can't be erased,
Reminiscent of a life of bliss.
And thus a greater joy such moments bring
That I cease to care for the mundane things.
