If we can keep smiling when all around us is crumbling, then that is a commendable feat indeed. Having said that, it's not always easy, is it?
This got me thinking about a poem called 'If' by Rudyard Kipling; read it if you get a chance.
All the best as ever, Mel,

Ahh, Ben! I read it and it's a beautiful poem! Thank you for sharing it!
No, it's never easy to smile because it is never easy to not be affected by what is happening around us. The poem is really great, Ben!

I really like the repetition of the first line in each stanza. I think for me, it gave it quite an eerie feel. I honestly thought - having not looked at the category it was placed in - that something rather dark was on it's way. I thought a murder or something unseemly was about to occur in the last stanza. And yes, I guess I would've liked that.

Sometimes I will read something and I will simply like it for what it is without having to think too deeply about it. This was one of those occasions.

A smile can often brighten someones day, and it can alter a person's reaction to us. It is also true that sometimes we have to smile when it's the last thing we feel like doing.

    Very well written (4)
