Of Principles

By principles,
We limit freedom
To confine ourselves
Within walls.
By these walls,
We call ourselves
Principled
But we are never free.

I think that generally human beings set up rules and codes for themselves to live by whether motivated by principles or religion or by peer pressure or government and you are right rules that are taken rigidly without free thought can become a wall that traps free will. (particularly in religion) However I also believe that positive principles such as honour and kindness to all others for example can help inspire.

An interesting thought provoking piece - well done x
