A short piece but an emotional one that offers up a myriad of thoughts. It makes the reader wonder what brought the writer to such a place and conjours images of fragments like petals falling to the ground like leaves from a tree then like dried leaves scattering on the wind. At face value the comparisons are clear but delving deeper it's so much more. To take a step further losing leaves is the end of a season moving towards the cold death of winter. So too the end of the writers mind as the pieces of her sanity blow away. A seemingly simple piece of prose with much depth and an enjoyable read. Milly x |
