Yours and Mine (short poem)

by Matt Carroll   Jul 8, 2017

Your words, they calm the storm that rages from within
Your eyes, they grant me passage to a place that's free of sin
Your smile, there is naught that brings me greater pleasure
Your spirit, so unbridled I can't help but just to treasure

My heart, oh how it races when my thoughts run back to you
My mind, it tries to find the words to show you this is true
My body, longs to take you in embrace and hold you tight
My soul, calls out to yours in brightest day or darkest night
