an interrogation.

Would you forgive me if I told you nothing but the truth?
When you look at the moon, do you ever think about
how it is the same thing I look at when I am sad?
Is it raining where you are too?
To this day, do the coffee stains remind you of me?

Would you still forgive me if I confessed all the lies I told you?
Have you ever thought about Shakespeare as a boy of 6?
What do you suppose his mother yelled at him
when he did the things that you and I have done as children?
Did his heart race to his throat
the same way mine does whenever you talk to me?

Would you forgive me if I told you I missed you?
Could you tell me the story about the snow creature
that lost itself in the middle of summer again?
Do you think it's found its way home by now?
Do you think we'll ever find home?

Would you forgive me if I did not ask for forgiveness?

An interrogation in a poetic and innocent way.
There is a childlike innocence in this write yet it holds
a weight which is ready to give way perhaps...?
