We Don't Even Know Who We Are

by stormingdance (Lessa)   Jul 9, 2017

Maybe animals feel more deeply than we do
high emotional IQ
I mean we don't even know who we are
we're always looking up to the stars
conflicting the world with our schisms
and they're all contributing to the ecosystem
busy creating the world that we live in
while we're all begging to be forgiven
for destroying the only home we know
barely surviving the harsh reality of the undertow
that we've created with our waste, greed, and pollution
lying to ourselves that more technology is the solution
When we all need is to reach out our hands to each other
and promise to always love and care for one another

A heartfelt message in this, Jessica. We constantly reach for the stars, forgetting in the meantime what an awful mess we're leaving our world in.

    All the best as ever,
    Ben
