her water peeks

by pmmurphy   Jul 11, 2017

i was undeserving of her touch
as her life was a grand oasis
and i had no floats.

nothing to keep me from drowning inside her
her body stays the liquid that flows seamlessly
i, the intricate rock that just plummets to the bottom.

her oasis still dips inside my lands
where i kept her inside a crater,
the very crater i created with my own
pale and shovel.

plots thicken by my life is not the
smooth water, hers is.

for i am jagged rocks
and dust piling in the air.

when we got together,
it was all just so muddy.
i kinda wished things didn't get so messy.

the sun has dried her up
and she forced her way through my cracks.

this oasis is now a tundra.

JUDGES COMMENTS: This is yet another fantastic piece that gave me goosebumps and resonated with me. I feel like I'm the narrator of this wonderful piece watching the scene unfold before my very eyes because it's truly affective and I personally think it'll stick with me for some time especially as there's always uniqueness in pmmurphys pieces.
