WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?

Something you heard whispered in your ear, you think, it must be true, because it came from you, a person who is a “Well-to-do”. Do you believe that some who solicit may view you as someone to deceive? Some who collect for the poor, they knock on your door, they may be young with a smiling face that you will adore, Heaven knows that 95% of your cash may end up in the hands of the well off and 5% goes to those who are without food or clothes!

When Roman History we do explore, we find that the Lawyers had many ways to relieve you of your cash, while you scrambled to pay the bill, they had a big bash. It was at Pompeii that the elite went to play, it was so bad that God could not anymore look the other way. Today, their wicked lifestyle is revealed, after being buried for Centuries, under Mount Vesuvius’s Ash!

How about that Dealer at your local Gambling place, he always seems to win, perhaps, up his sleeve he has an Ace? I marvel much about how many people believe in all those *Frauds that come their way via TV, or the daily mail and even at your door. You voluntarily give them your cash, which is seen no more, you fret, while they bask in the Sun at the Shore.

*Here in Florida we have so many people caught in Swindles because of it being a big Retirement State. We have many old and feeble men and women who are so easily taken advantage of. An actual story read on our local newspaper was about an old Lady who was approached by a person who said they had a winning Lotto ticket but could not claim the prize because they were not a Citizen of the US. They said they would give her the ticket for a certain amount of cash. The Lady took the person to her Bank and withdrew her entire life Savings and gave it for the ticket, her Funds were never to be seen again! The ticket had been doctored up for a previous weeks winning ticket, which convinced that poor Lady, very sad.

We have a bad case of this fraud in the Philippines, Ken! Yes, the older ones (senior citizens) are always the victim because they have little knowledge especially of using their ATM Cards. A great subject to highlight and your rhyming nailed it once again. Great work!

Not humorous like your usual work, Ken, but just as good; things like this need to be made clear and highlighted.

    All the best as ever,
    Ben

You are right Ben, my heart was really not in it but I wanted to bring more attention to those who need help, It was hard adding the humor.

It's a terrible thing but old age and I'll health makes almost everyone more vulnerable that they were at the peak of their lives. These people who use that to their advantage don't realise that eventually it will come to them too. Well done on highlighting this issue x

Great point Milly, I think those bad people think always in the present with no care about what lies ahead!
