The Song

by mossgirl19   Jul 16, 2017

Instrumental music fills the air
and the room
once more ignited a fire.

Voices started to blend in
the melody
firstly gentle,
then slowly gaining momentum.

They performed a duet,
her voice engulfed
in his and his in hers.

Soprano and tenor
they are now
aiming for the high notes.

The ending
was melodramatic
operatic,
she was in tears.

He fell to his knees
gravely wishing that
none of them heard the piano keys
when it first started.

    Perfect flow once again.
And as Brad already mentioned length is perfect too.
The beauty of such poems is that you begin to imagine everything. Like it's real. It's happening infront of you.

I loved the story of this. There was a beauty to it, a strength, a sense of sadness throughout. I rarely say this, but I wish they'd been more...which probably means it was the perfect length.
