DENYING HER BEAUTY

by Wayne Gates   Jul 17, 2017

It is so obvious to me, the beauty she shows
Her smile is infectious and her eyes have a glow
Her hair shines in the light and smells like spring
When she works in the garden the birds start to sing
Yet when I point this out and call her pretty
She thinks that I am lying, oh what a pity
She believes that her weight makes her unattractive
If only she believed what I know to be the fact is
Her beauty within shines with an intensity so bright
She brings the sunshine to the darkest of night
I love her ever so much, my dearest sweet Karen
I had to write this down and am pleased to be sharing
Deep from my heart
Wayne

      Thank you.
I only write when something is troubling me. And this has been swirling around in my head for awhile.
